At the HRCC Meeting of 14 August 2025, it was formally resolved for HRCC to adopt a trading name of Western Sydney Weeds Authority (WSWA). The reasons for this change include the following:
- Reduce confusion between our organisation and Hawkesbury City Council.
- Better communicate our role and function in the community.
This will have no bearing on our roles we perform in the community which include our function as a local control authority (weeds) for our member councils of Blacktown, Hawkesbury, Penrith and the Hills Shire. We will continue to undertake private property inspections, control weeds on public land and facilitate the local Landcare program.
In the near future we will be adopting a new logo and branding, and holding a community celebration at our depot on 28 February 2026 to officially launch our new name! If you have an questions please feel free to contact us.
