Priority Listings Explained
Prevention
WSWA aims to prevent new infestations from occurring in our LCA area.
Eradication
WSWA aims to eradicate the infestations in our LCA area.
Containment
WSWA aims to contain plants within a core infestation area. Core infestation areas are specific to each plant.
Inside the core infestation area, plants are controlled to protect assets.
Outside the core infestation area, plants are eradicated.
Asset protection
WSWA aims to control these plants to protect environmental, industrial and community health assets, throughout our LCA area.
Regulatory Requirements
Prohibited Matter plants MUST BE reported to Western Sydney Weeds Authority.
Plants that are listed with a Control Order or a Biosecurity Zone MUST BE eradicated from the land,
and the land must be kept free of the plant.
Plants that are Banned for Sale, are not allowed to be sold, including any plant parts, cultivars and
hybrids.
